The Celestial Mechanics Working Days began in 1998, initiated by the Space Mechanics Group of the Universidat de Zaragoza, to serve as a meeting forum for research groups in Celestial Mechanics. In a warm and relaxed working atmosphere, we have already celebrated twenty-one sessions, during which we shared the work we were developing, engaged in discussions, and collaborative ideas emerged.
The twenty-second edition of the JTMC will be held in the city of Girona, a location that offers a magnificent environment and conditions for this event. The event will take place from June 17 to 19, 2024, at the Faculty of Tourism of the University of Girona, in the Barri Vell Campus.
These sessions have been held continuously from 1998 to 2009, then biennially from 2012 to 2016, and again annually since 2017, coinciding with the sessions in Soria in honor of Antonio Elipe. Each edition is organized by a different university or research group.
Objectives
The main purpose of this conference, held for over two decades, is to foster personal connections among researchers. While these researchers focus on Celestial Mechanics, they come from diverse fields such as Astronomy, Computing, Engineering, Dynamical Systems, and Astrodynamics, among others. The idea is that, despite their differences, they can discover areas of convergence in their current research. Additionally, young scientists find in this event a space to share their findings with experts. At times, these interactions have led to the generation of new ideas and research directions that have later been integrated into various research projects.
